Lessons Learned from Jimmy, Pt. 4
Note From Jimmy: I’m out of town this week and my affiliate manager, Nicole Dean is filling in for me. Say “hello” to Nicole. Don’t be afraid. She won’t bite.
Nicole is a wonderful internet marketer, friend and all around good girl … and she always has something interesting to say, so check in each day. See you next week.

Hey guys. I’m back. I’m Nicole Dean, and I’m Jimmy’s Affiliate Manager at www.InfoProfitShare.com. I’m also his business partner at www.OutsourceWeekly.com.
This week, as Jimmy mentioned, I’m visiting, sharing a 5 part series entitled “Lessons Learned Working with Jimmy D. Brown: The Inside Scoop”. If you’re just joining me, here are the first three blog posts of the series:
Lessons Learned from Jimmy, Pt. 3
Lessons Learned from Jimmy, Pt. 2
Lessons Learned from Jimmy, Pt. 1
Yesterday I talked about defining what success meant to you and working towards that goal.
Today I’d like to share a related, but slightly different lesson that I’ve learned from Jimmy’s example that I’m still struggling to implement.
Lesson 4: Make Sure your Priorities are in Whack.
ok. I know that “in whack” isn’t an actual phrase but I’m going for the opposite of “out of whack” so work with me on this one.
Now, I don’t want to get preachy here. (And, honestly, I have no business being preachy about this since it’s something that I struggle with daily…)
Priorities. Priorities. Priorities. ((sigh))
Did you know that Jimmy exercises like every day?! Seriously. He makes it a priority. While the rest of us are slowly but surely developing “Computer Butt” - he’s in the best shape of his life.
Is it because he’s got more than 24 hours in a day? Nope. It’s because he’s got his priorities “in whack”.
I used to be a total gym rat. I loved exercising!
However, once I started my online business, I’ve made excuses why I couldn’t exercise regularly (for the last 4 years). I’ve had to become the primary breadwinner (and now the sole breadwinner) in our family so I told myself that I didn’t have the time to get into shape or take care of myself or … shower. (eew! I know.)
I should have just hung a sign on the door that said “Computer Butt Welcome Here”. Because it came whether I liked it or not.
— Sidenote —
I had the Home Office Quickie Exercise Expert, Scott Tousignant, on my podcast last week, and he’s created a 10 minute workout for home business people that I’m thinking of doing on my blog with anyone who would like to join me.
Would love to have you if you’re interested. But, first learn more about Scott’s program and his views on health here: Interview with Scott Tousignant.
— End Sidenote —
Also, as you may know, Jimmy takes time to help at his church and he also went on a mission trip this year to Poland. He, along with his bride, Paula, homeschool their son and travel around the country. Not a bad way to spend your days.
How would you like to spend your time with the people you love, doing things that make a difference in your community, while working to help people who need a it?
Priorities. It makes you think.
What are your priorities? And, is your business coming between you and them?
Sure, we all want to give back and we all want to get fit and be healthy, but what are our excuses?
I just don’t have time to exercise. Some day I will.
Some day when I get more money from my business, I will give back.
Well, I’ve got a little secret for you. Last time I checked “Someday” wasn’t on the calendar. I saw a Saturday and a Sunday, but no Someday.
Also, did you know that even fitting in 10 minutes of exercise each day can make you MORE productive. I’ll get my friend, Scott, to comment over here with his experience.
What does all of this have to do with priorities? Your health should be at least as much of a priority as your wealth.
But, finding the time… finding the time. How do you find the time to fit a workout into your day - find time to give back – and find time to spend with your loved ones – and find time to shower?!
That’s again, where I’ll recommend the Homepreneur Habits course. If Jimmy can run a hugely profitable business in only three hours each day, find time to exercise daily, have date nights with his wife, and travel to tennis matches all over the country – wouldn’t you think you might learn nugget or two in this $15 report?
That reminds me. I need to go reread it myself.
I’ll close out today’s blog post with an excerpt from the Homepreneur Habits report. This is the intro to the report. Enjoy!

Excerpt copied from Homepreneur Habits – Jimmy D. Brown, author.
One of the questions that I get a lot from members of List And Traffic (as well as from my other customers and even subscribers) is this -
What does your home office look like?
There is a lot of interest in learning about the equipment I use, the setup of my office, my daily routine, etc. So, I’ve decided to create this report that I’m entitling, “Homepreneur Habits: How To Run A Successful Home Business”.
My goal for this series is to teach you some basic setup and operations for establishing and maintaining your own home business office. Which, ultimately, will translate into more efficiency, productivity and …
Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, I think some of the insights that I’ll be giving you into how my own office and business is organized and operated will be beneficial to you in your own pursuits.
And, YES, just so you know, I really do work in my pajamas! In fact, as I’m writing this article I’m sitting here in my Ralph Lauren Polo pajamas and a white t-shirt. My wife snapped this picture just a couple of minutes ago…
(Warning: This is Jimmy in the morning in his pajamas … not for the faint at heart
Continue on at your own risk.
No lifeguards on duty.
Turn back, turn back, turn back.
Okay, you were warned…
(Picture of Jimmy in his Jammies for customers only.)
You really can operate your own business in your pajamas. Or anything else for that matter. But, please, no file-sharing. I’ll take you at your word when you tell me you work in the same pair of holey underwear from college just to remind you of where you came from.
Okay, back to the point. I’ve got this series divided into three parts…
Homepreneur Habits: How To Run A Successful Home Business
Lesson #1: The PRINCIPLES Of A Successful Homepreneur
Lesson #2: The PARAPHERNALIA Of A Successful Homepreneur
Lesson #3: The Of A Successful Homepreneur
In our first lesson we’ll look at some guidelines or “rules” that I go by in organizing and operating my home office. Lesson two will cover specific equipment that I use in my daily operations. And in lesson three I’ll share how to organize your schedule for increased productivity and results.
I’ll be sharing lots of visuals as you’ll be given an “all access” tour of my own home office.

If you’ve bought and read the Homepreneur Habits report, I’d love to hear your thoughts below. It’s one of my favorites – obviously.
I’ll be back with the wrap-up tomorrow.
Warmly,
Nicole Dean

Yet another wonderfully marvelous lesson to learn! It’s a hard one for many of us who work online, but yes keeping yourself healthy IS a priority!
P.S. Go take a shower - I can smell you over here!

Another great post Nicole. I really like this series, it makes me think and refocus. After working at home glued to my computer and chair for hours a day for years, I too have struggled with proiritizing personal care items - like exercise. Got really sick because of it. You remind me it’s a decision and the only way to do something about it is to just get out there and do it. and make it a priority.
Thanks!

Fantastic post!
It is so great to see the leaders in the home business and Internet Marketing niche being positive role models for all those who follow them.
Health is my #1 priority. I don’t ‘fit in’ my home office workouts. I schedule my day around my home office workouts because I know the impact that it will have on my business, fitness, and life.
Health should be your #1 priority for several reasons…
1) What good is wealth if your quality of life sucks and you can’t enjoy the riches that you’ve earned?
2) A quick fitness break will improve your quality of work, time management, productivity, energy, and focus.
3) Bottom line: quick home office workouts help you get more done in less time
4) You’ll have more energy at the end of the day to play with your kids and do the things that you love
5) Fit and healthy entrepreneurs create more networking opportunities.
6) Think about why you started your home business. It wasn’t to spend hours in front of the computer, neglect your family, and live in a prison of your own making. Chance are, you started your home business to create freedom in your life and spend more time with your family.
…I could go on and on here, but I think you get the picture.
If you’ve developed “Computer Butt” after starting your home business you are not alone. It happened to me too. I got caught up in learning as much as I could and locking myself in the basement to get a product launched. I sacrificed everything that mattered to me and got fat in the process. If it can happen to me, it can happen to anyone.
The great news is that you can make the choice right here and right now to reclaim your health, your life, and re-engergize your business and passion. You don’t need to spend hours in the gym to do this either. You don’t even have to leave your office.
Improving your health and making it a priority will dramatically improve your home business. Don’t forget about your family either. I’m sure that those date nights are doing wonders for Jimmy’s business. I know that getting outdoors and playing with my kids makes me a better entrepreneur.
All work and no play doesn’t just make Jack a dull boy. It makes him a poor entrepreneur. He may make good money, but his life is not rich by any means.
Thanks for the great post Nicole.
You Rock! Enjoy the experience,
Scott Tousignant

Nicole, this series has been awesome…really inspiring
I laughed at this: “or … shower. (eew! I know.)” But only because there’s been days when I’ve been so busy with kids, work, and stuff around the house, that by the time I call it a day I’m too tired to grab a shower, lol!

Hi Nicole …
what an excellent post ! I am sure
Jimmy is leaving a life that almost all dream of.
Who don’t want to have freedom like Jimmy had right
now…? not only have a lots of money, but as well
can spent time with the people we love , giving
back to society and help People who really need
help. But the problem is , we sometimes fail to
prioritize which one is important . For instance ,
we tend to ignore daily exercise , yet at the same
time we work so hard to achieve our dream. Is this
a balance lifestyle? Definitely not…!That’s where
priorities come s in. And you explained in detail
in this post. Thanks again…
