How To Make A Fortune With PLR
NOTE: The following is part of a regular series entitled “How Would You Do It?” in which I’ll take hypothetical situations and give my own personal response for accomplishing the objective.
TODAY’S SCENARIO -
“If you bought a PLR license to a course entitled, ‘101 Tips For Making Money With Online Auctions’ and needed to set it up to sell in the best way possible, how would you do it?”
One of the things that really amazes me about the PLR market is the lack of creativity in using PLR content that most people seem to possess.
Most people would simply take the course mentioned above, slap up a website, cross their fingers, make a few sales and then be off to the next thing.
Ding. Game over. Thanks for playing. We have some nice parting gifts for you.
That’s usually not the best way to use PLR.
Let me propose a better set of steps…
5 Steps To Making A Fortune With PLR
1. Extract an Ezine Article
You’ve got 101 tips in the manual itself, so you take 5 of them and organize a short ezine article. You might entitle it, “5 Ways to Make Money With Online Auctions”. In your resource box at the close of your article, mention your name as the author and then provide a link to a mini-course that you’ve created (see next step).
2. Organize a Mini-Course
Take 5 more of the tips and create a short, 5-day mini-course. Each day of the course will offer a new tip (that you’ve extracted from the manual) along with some additional comments from you. You might entitle it, “5 Ways To Make Extra Money On Every Item You Sell On eBay”. The mini-course will be loaded to your autoresponder and folks who read your original ezine article will be led to the site for your course and they can join. Each day they will automatically be sent the quick tip of the day…and you will be able to promote your PRODUCT that you’ve created. (see next step).
3. Develop a Product
You’ve got the manual of 101 tips included in this package, so turn it into a product of its own. Organize it however you choose and compile it into an eBook for example. Add more content to “personalize” it … share personal stories, provide examples for each tip, add more details to the tips, share case studies, create screenshots to “show” how to do the tips, add in checklists, provide templates, pad the manual with extra content and rewrite the existing content where appropriate. Make this a complete original product from the PLR materials. Write a short salesletter (You can even have someone do this for you at Elance.com, if you want!) and load it to your site. A possible title for the product might be “How To Make A Living By Selling On Ebay” Sell it for $27.00 and promote a “gold upsell”. (see next step)
4. Create a “gold upsell”
Whenever someone buys your product, offer them a “gold upsell.” You can do this on the order page, on the “thank you” page, inside the product itself or in follow-up messages. Your “gold upsell” could be many different things: you might offer a reprint rights license to the product or a master reprint rights license … for $47-$97. Or, you might offer a complete “funnel system” for $197 that allows the customer to obtain rights to your entire funnel (ezine article, mini-course, product, gold upsell, backend links) so they can do what you have done. All you need now are “backend” links. (See next step)
5. Promote “backend” links
In your product that you create (and in the follow-up messages for your mini-course and to customers who buy your product) you’ll want to promote affiliate programs with your link. If anyone buys a promoted product through your link, then you’ll earn a commission. Find other offers related to selling on online auctions or other “making money” offers and promote them as an affiliate after the sale. The idea here is to make a couple of hand-picked offers that your customers would likely be interested in … and if they buy, you make more money!
This is a much better approach to using PLR materials. And this will allow you to see much better results (I.E. Cash in your bank account!) than simply using the original content in its original state just like everyone else is trying to do.
The key is threefold…
* Invest time in the materials.
* Personalize the materials to make them uniquely yours.
* Be creative by using the “funnel” approach I just mentioned.
Of course, the key is to start out with “prime” PLR content. Obviously, the better quality content you have private labels rights to use, the better for you. There are a BUNCH of PLR options out there, but how many are “the best of the best written by the best”?
If you’d like PLR content written by Jimmy D. Brown (that’s me!) then drop by http://www.PrimePLR.com. WARNING: Only 250 packages are being sold, so once they’re gone, they’re gone forever.

Hey Jimmy,
You are a hero to many of us. Great progression of ideas here. It got my mind moving on some of the PLR I have “aging” on my hard drive.
You didn’t even touch the many ways to repurpose or re-format PLR. Most of it comes in the text form, how about putting it to video, podcast, combination workbook and video….

Hi Jimmy,
Like Andrew, I want to be in on this and one of the 250 people. Is there an opt-in page coming soon?

Thanks for the outline Jimmy!
This is about what I was thinking but it’s great to have you reinforce it and flesh out the details.

That’s a great tips Jimmy. Yes you are the original creator of the whole PLR industry. I still remember the “Products in The Rough” package.
By the way,
You missed the point about creating the PLR book into audio files and starting an affiliate program on clickbank or paydotcom.

I love this Jimmy. I did not even think of doing a funnel and allow people to sell it. I see why i continue to buy your stuff and learn so much from you.

Hey Jimmy
I’ve personally seen you mention the “offer free e-course” in almost every freebies or products that you offers. Is that really a good way to make money?I doubt it.I believe that reports or other digital products offers more value to visitors.Anyhow I’m pretty sure that this technique must have been working very well for you.

Great info, thanks so much. I was wondering what to do with all this PLR content I have.
You are so creative and your site is pure gold for information. I’ll be back often.

Too late again! When Jimmy says only 250 available, he means it. Gotta join Procrastinators Anonymous.
